精密薄鋸片(金屬)

鑽石的化學性質雖然很安定，但其耐熱性並不很強，在空氣中如熱達800 ℃以上時，即發生炭化現象，失去其特性，而使鑽石能力無法完全發揮。
當鋸片在進行切削工作時，欲使其不發生火花，必須要供給充份的水量，以利冷卻作用。

精密鑽石薄鋸片主要用於光學玻璃、磁性材料、半導體材料、晶體、精細陶瓷等脆性非金屬材料及硬質合金、模具鋼等材料的開槽、切割加工與普通鋸片相較之下切割更精細、平穩，切口損失小，切割面更為平滑。
